ABOUT TOMBALL TX

Tomball is a picturesque hamlet fewer than 30 miles northwest of the busy core of Houston, and it has lots to offer visitors of all stripes. Downtown Tomball is full of unique boutiques selling everything from vintage clothing to antiques. Escape to nature by hiking Burroughs Park's trails or playing a round of golf at one of the many courses in the area. Tomball is a terrific destination for a weekend trip because of its abundance of museums, and its historic train terminal is the site of numerous lively festivals throughout the year.

Tomball's history, which spans more than 150 years, reflects that of Texas. German pioneers were the first to arrive, settling the area's dense pine forest with farms and ranches. In the early 1900s, the town was renamed after the man responsible for routing the railroad through the site because of the importance of opening a central terminal for the train. The oil boom that began with its discovery in 1933 is still strong today.
