There are holiday events, daily activities, and traditions—from markets to ice skating to festivals—beginning in November. Whether you want to soak in all the holiday cheer or would rather pick one or two low-key activities to help you get into the holiday spirit, there truly is something for everyone. 11/18 – 11/20 | Junior League of The Woodlands’ 17th Annual Holiday Market
The Junior League of The Woodlands’ 17th Annual Holiday Market is sure to impress even the most discerning shopper! Held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel, over 100 vendors set up shop so that you can begin holiday shopping early. You can purchase tickets to attend the Holiday Market here.
11/18 | Market Street Tree Lighting Ceremony
One of The Woodlands’ best-known holiday attractions, the Market Street Tree Lighting Ceremony is a fun, family-friendly event that signifies the beginning of the holiday season. The 2021 Official Lighting Luminary is Leukemia survivor Charlie Haydon, age 4. Once the tree is officially lit, there will be a daily synchronized light and musical display every hour on the hour from 5:00-9:00 PM (through December 31st.)
11/19 – 1/17 | Skating at the Ice Rink
The Ice Rink is a seasonal crowd-pleaser that the whole family will want to visit! With fun lighting, music, party tables, and concessions, the 21,000 square foot facility sits in The Woodlands Town Center and is one of the most popular local holiday attractions. 11/20 | 37th Annual Lighting of the Doves Festival
Arguably the most iconic, long-standing tradition in The Woodlands, the Lighting of the Doves Festival is a must-see each year. The ceremony symbolizes peace and hope over the holiday season, and is preceded by stage performances and live music. Watch Town Green Park transform into a lively community celebration with balloon art, crafts, face painting, snow, live reindeer, fireworks, and more.
11/20 – 12/24 | Santa at Market Street
The classic holiday tradition comes to Market Street! Round up your little ones and take them to meet Santa and get photos with him as a memento of the holidays. You can purchase tickets to meet Santa here.
11/26 – 11/28 | Vitacca School for Dance presents The Nutcracker
The Vitacca School for Dance takes center stage at The Woodlands Resort to perform the holiday season’s most famous ballet: The Nutcracker. Bring the whole family to watch the story of Clara and the Nutcracker unfold! You can purchase tickets to watch The Nutcracker here.
12/2 | Holly Jolly Jingle
Holly Jolly Jingle is sure to be a hit with your little ones. Head to the Mitchell Pavilion to plunge into a winter wonderland full of classic holiday movie characters, crafts, and music. Enjoy performances by local student musicians of your favorite holiday tunes! There may even be a surprise visit from the jolly big elf himself…
12/5 | Chanukah Celebration and Menorah Lighting
Chabad of The Woodlands is hosting the 11th Grand Chanukah Celebration in Market Street’s Central Park. Festivities will include a performance from the Hasidic folk-rock band, Rogers Park, and a menorah lighting by Rabbi Mendel Blecher.
12/5 | Grand Illumination
The Woodlands Resort’s Grand Illumination celebration features live music, holiday movies, crafts, gingerbread house decorating, a visit from Santa, and the crowning event: the tree lighting at 7 PM.
